About Wayki Trek
Wayki Trek is a veteran Cusco trekking operator running from Calle Quera in the city centre, with more than two decades of experience guiding hikers to Machu Picchu. The name "Wayki" means "friend" in Quechua, and the company is rooted in the highland villages whose families supply many of its porters and guides.
Their signature offering is the Classic Inca Trail in 2, 4 and 5-day versions, available for solo travellers, couples, families and groups. They also run combined routes such as Lares-and-Inca-Trail and Salkantay-and-Inca-Trail, plus standalone Ausangate, Lares, Salkantay and Choquequirao treks. Day tours to Rainbow Mountain, Humantay Lake, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu round out the programme, and full camping equipment and trail support are included on multi-day departures.
Wayki Trek is best known for its "Wayki experience," an optional pre-trek overnight in a porter's home village that gives travellers a genuine connection to Andean life before they hit the trail. That community focus, combined with long operating history and consistently positive reviews, makes it a standout among Cusco's many trekking agencies.
