About Wild Waters Outdoor Center
Wild Waters Outdoor Center has been the Lake George region's premier whitewater rafting outfitter since 1983, owned and operated by the Azaert family from bases on both the Hudson and Sacandaga Rivers. With over four decades of experience running guided trips through some of the Adirondacks' most exhilarating rapids, the company has introduced thousands of visitors to the thrill of whitewater while maintaining an impeccable safety record. Their Warrensburg headquarters on Route 28 sits just ten minutes from Lake George Village, making it an easy add-on to any lake vacation.
The flagship offering is the seventeen-mile Hudson River Gorge trip — a Class III–IV whitewater adventure that winds through a remote, roadless canyon accessible only by river. This full-day expedition runs on select days and is suited for ages eight and up. For those seeking a shorter, more family-friendly experience, the three-and-a-half-mile Sacandaga River trip features Class II–III rapids and departs multiple times daily from their Lake Luzerne base. Both trips include all equipment, professional guides, safety instruction, and shuttle service. The company also offers inflatable kayak trips for paddlers who want a more hands-on river experience.
What sets Wild Waters apart is their dual-river access — no other outfitter in the region offers trips on both the Hudson and the Sacandaga, giving guests a choice between a remote wilderness expedition and a quick, action-packed afternoon run. The Azaert family's deep knowledge of these rivers, combined with a team of certified guides who return season after season, creates a level of trust and expertise that chain adventure companies simply cannot replicate.
