About Cannon Beach Surf Lessons & Rentals
Cannon Beach Surf Lessons & Rentals is a dedicated surf school and rental outfitter based on South Hemlock Street in the heart of Cannon Beach. With more than 18 years of teaching experience on local beaches, the team specialises in getting first-timers standing on a board and helping intermediate surfers build confidence in Oregon's powerful Pacific swells.
Lessons run seven days a week year-round, conditions permitting, and are available as private one-on-one sessions, small private groups, large group bookings, and multi-day surf camps. All lessons include a surfboard, wetsuit, and safety instruction before hitting the water. The rental fleet covers soft-top longboards, epoxy boards, fiberglass shortboards, and boogie boards, plus full wetsuit packages with booties and gloves for the cold north coast waters.
What makes this operation stand out is its sole focus on surf instruction and beach-ready rental gear — there's no retail merchandise or apparel side to distract from the core mission. The instructors are CPR-certified locals who know every break from Haystack Rock to Indian Beach, and they tailor each session to the day's conditions and the student's ability. Parking is available behind the building on Rock Court, making it easy to grab gear and walk straight to the surf.
