About Cathedral Cove Dive & Snorkel
Cathedral Cove Dive & Snorkel is a PADI Dive Centre based at Hahei Beach, offering scuba diving and snorkelling trips around the spectacular Te Whanganui-A-Hei Marine Reserve. Just a short boat ride from shore, the reserve's islands, reefs, and sea caves teem with snapper, crayfish, and colourful temperate marine life, making it one of the North Island's most rewarding dive locations.
The centre runs half-day scuba trips for certified divers, beginner-friendly snorkel boat tours where no experience is needed, and private boat charters out to the islands and the nearby Mercury Islands. Full PADI training is available, from Discover Scuba and Open Water through to Advanced, Rescue Diver, and Divemaster, with e-Learning options to fast-track the theory. Scuba and snorkel gear hire, including full warm wetsuits, is provided so visitors can simply turn up and get in the water.
Small group sizes and well-trained, friendly staff are central to the operation, which is OutdoorsMark safety audited and a committed signatory to the Tiaki Promise for environmental care. Whether learning to dive or simply floating above the reef with a mask, guests get an up-close look at a thriving protected marine environment.
