About Coastal Bend Kayak
Coastal Bend Kayak is a paddling outfitter based in Aransas Pass, minutes from the Port Aransas ferry, guiding kayakers through the seagrass flats and mangrove islands of Redfish Bay and the Lighthouse Lakes. Founder and guide Hector Rios has spent more than twenty-five years leading paddlers along this stretch of the Texas Coastal Bend.
Guided eco tours follow the Lighthouse Lakes Paddling Trail — the first mapped kayak trail on the Texas coast — with routes past the historic Lydia Ann Lighthouse, plus trips on the Mustang Island State Park paddling trail. The company also offers kayak fishing trips for redfish and speckled trout, beginner lessons, and daily kayak rentals for paddlers who prefer to explore on their own.
As one of the only outfitters running guided trips on the Lighthouse Lakes, Coastal Bend Kayak pairs easy, protected water with genuine local naturalist knowledge — herons, roseate spoonbills and dolphins are common sights. Tours suit complete beginners, and all gear is provided.
