About Dolphin Landings Charter Boat Center
Dolphin Landings has been sending boats out from 4737 Gulf Boulevard since 1972, when Captain Dan Peretz started taking guests sailing, and it now bills itself as St. Pete Beach's longest-running charter boat center. Tucked into the Intracoastal side of the island behind the Dolphin Village shops, its docks are home to a fleet of more than 40 vessels ranging from large ocean-going sailing ketches to offshore fishing boats.
The schedule mixes daily two-hour dolphin-watching trips, sunset sails aboard tall two-masted ketches, and island adventures to Shell Key and Egmont Key with time to swim and shell. On the fishing side, the center books public offshore trips, deep sea charters, and back-bay outings, and private charters can be arranged for everything from small family sails to large group events. Trips run seven days a week, and passengers on the sailing trips are welcome to help hoist sails or simply ride.
Being the booking hub for dozens of independent boats is what makes Dolphin Landings different: one phone call matches a group to the right vessel, captain, and trip length rather than a one-boat schedule. Five decades on the same docks, and the rare chance to sail a genuine ketch rather than ride a pontoon, keep it a fixture of the St. Pete Beach waterfront.
