About Mountain Sports Kayak School
Mountain Sports Kayak School is Steamboat Springs' dedicated whitewater kayaking instruction center, located at 800 South Lincoln Avenue along the Yampa River corridor. Specializing in kayak lessons for all skill levels, they transform beginners into confident paddlers on the river that runs through the heart of town.
Their lesson programs range from introductory half-day clinics on flat water to multi-day courses that progress students into moving water and eventually Class II-III rapids on the Yampa. Private lessons, group clinics, and kids' camps are all available throughout the summer season. Equipment including kayaks, paddles, spray skirts, helmets, and PFDs is provided with all instruction. They also offer kayak rentals for experienced paddlers who want to explore the Yampa independently.
