About Muskoka Ski Club - Hidden Valley
Hidden Valley, now run as the Muskoka Ski Club, is the ski hill closest to downtown Huntsville, set just off Highway 60 on Hidden Valley Road near Peninsula Lake. Skiing has operated on the site since the early 1960s, and the club itself was incorporated in 1971 as the Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Club before taking its current name.
The hill has about 15 groomed trails and a vertical drop of roughly 100 meters, served by quad chairlifts and a handle tow, with snowmaking across most of the terrain and a terrain park. On site there is a rental shop for skis and snowboards, a Snow School for lessons, a pro shop run with Algonquin Outfitters, and the Apres Cafe for a warm-up between runs. Night skiing extends the day on select evenings.
The club runs on a membership model but is open to the public, which gives it a small-hill, family feel that bigger resorts lack. Events like torchlight parades, pancake breakfasts and live music nights fill the winter calendar, and its short drive from Huntsville hotels and Deerhurst makes it an easy add-on to a Muskoka winter weekend.
