About Algonquin Outfitters Huntsville
Algonquin Outfitters is a family-owned outfitter that has been sending paddlers into Algonquin Park since 1961. Its Huntsville store sits at 86 Main Street East in the downtown core, backing onto the Muskoka River, and it is one of several locations the company runs along the Highway 60 corridor and inside the park.
The Huntsville store rents canoes, kayaks, stand up paddleboards and pedal boats straight from its own dock near River Mill Park. From there, paddlers can head upstream into Hunters Bay or downstream toward Fairy Lake on calm, beginner-friendly water. Every paddle rental comes with paddles, life jackets in kid sizes, a safety kit, a map and a dry bag, and staff give a quick tutorial before launch. The AO Bikes side of the shop rents bikes in summer and fat bikes in winter, and runs a full service department.
Walk-up rentals need no reservation, which makes this an easy half-day plan for visitors staying in town. For bigger plans, the same company handles guided Algonquin Park day trips, complete canoe trip outfitting and a water taxi, so a first paddle on the Muskoka River can turn into a full backcountry trip with the same team.
