About Pangaea Adventures
Pangaea Adventures is an owner-operated adventure company at 107 N Harbor Dr on the Valdez waterfront, running trips across Prince William Sound and the surrounding mountains each summer from late May through mid-September. The outfit pairs sea-based paddling with river running, making it the most versatile single stop for active travelers in town.
Guided sea kayak day trips explore Valdez Arm, Shoup Glacier, and the iceberg gardens of Columbia Bay, with stable tandem kayaks and all paddling gear included. On land, Pangaea runs whitewater rafting on the Lowe River through Keystone Canyon — a splashy Class III run beneath waterfalls like Bridal Veil Falls that works for first-timers and families. Extended sea kayak tours and multi-sport itineraries string together paddling, hiking, and camping over several days, and group sizes stay small enough for guides to coach newer paddlers one-on-one.
What sets Pangaea apart is that breadth: glacier kayaking in the morning and canyon rafting in the afternoon, all coordinated from one harborfront shop. Guides are seasoned Alaska hands, and the company's long-standing local permits and safety record have made it a fixture of the Valdez summer season.
