Pedego Rentals and Tours St. John's is an electric bike rental shop on Harbour Drive, right on the downtown waterfront. Local owners Mike and Tammy run the location, which operates seasonally through the summer, and bike maintenance is handled at their sister business, Voltage Powersports.
The shop rents Pedego e-bikes for a few hours or longer, with custom packages for multi-day rentals, and helmets and locks are provided with rentals. Staff suggest routes to some of the city's best-known sights, including Signal Hill, the historic fishing village of Quidi Vidi and the Cape Spear Lighthouse, the most easterly point in North America. Hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in season.
St. John's is a steep city, and that is the case for going electric here. The pedal assist turns the climb up Signal Hill or the run out to Cape Spear into an easy ride, so visitors who would never tackle those grades on a regular bike can still see the coast on two wheels. The harborfront location also makes it easy to pick up a bike straight from a downtown hotel or a cruise ship.
