About Riptide Ride
Riptide Ride brings a jolt of adrenaline to the Munising waterfront with high-speed jet boat tours departing from Commercial Street downtown. Where the traditional cruises amble past the scenery, Riptide's open-air jet boat covers 25 miles of Grand Island and Pictured Rocks coastline in a fast, spray-soaked 90 minutes.
Each trip mixes full-throttle runs and spins with slow-downs at the highlights: sandstone cliffs towering up to 300 feet, shoreline waterfalls, two lighthouses and the sea caves along Grand Island's east channel, with bald eagle sightings a regular bonus. The season runs from late May through the end of September, with up to five daily departures in midsummer. Riders age three and up are welcome, and splash gear keeps the soaking mostly voluntary.
