About Munising Snowmobile Rentals
Munising Snowmobile Rentals puts riders onto one of the Midwest's most reliable snow belts from its shop on M-28 in Wetmore, just east of Munising. Lake-effect snow off Superior buries Alger County every winter, and the business sits directly on the groomed trail network so renters can ride from the parking lot.
The fleet consists of current-model touring snowmobiles rented by the half day, full day or multi-day, with one-up and two-up sleds available. Helmets, jackets and bibs can be rented alongside the machines, so travelers flying in without gear can still ride. From the shop, groomed trails fan out in every direction — north along the Pictured Rocks corridor toward frozen waterfalls, east toward Grand Marais and the Kingston Plains, and south into the Hiawatha National Forest.
With more than three decades of rental experience, the operation is one of the longest-running sled outfitters in the Upper Peninsula. Staff set up each machine, walk first-timers through operation and provide trail maps and honest route advice matched to snow conditions, which is why the shop draws the same downstate groups back year after year.
