About Ya-Hoo Corrals
Ya-Hoo Corrals is McCall's most popular horseback riding outfitter, offering guided trail rides through the stunning Payette National Forest just minutes from downtown. Founded over 30 years ago by Cheryl Bransford and now operated by veteran guide Sky Wilson since 2019, the family-friendly operation has introduced thousands of visitors to the backcountry on well-trained horses that handle everything from gentle meadow walks to mountain ridge traverses.
The ride menu covers a range of durations and terrains — from 1.5-hour introductory rides perfect for first-timers to half-day and full-day backcountry adventures that reach alpine viewpoints overlooking Payette Lake and the Salmon River Mountains. They also offer evening dinner rides with a campfire meal, horse-drawn wagon rides for groups, and pony rides for children five and under who aren't quite ready for the saddle. The operation runs from late May through mid-September, six days a week.
What keeps Ya-Hoo Corrals at the top of McCall's activity list is the quality of the horses and the warmth of the guides. Every ride is tailored to the group's experience level, with knowledgeable wranglers who share stories about local wildlife, wildflowers, and mountain history along the way. The combination of breathtaking scenery, gentle mounts, and genuine western hospitality makes this a highlight for families visiting the McCall area.
