Setting Up Your Widget
Getting your booking widget ready takes just a few minutes. This guide walks you through the initial configuration so your customers can start booking online.
Before You Start
Make sure you have the following in place:
- At least one product or experience created in EquipDash with pricing set up
- Business details configured (business name, address, timezone) in Settings > Business details
- Admin or Manager access — you need the Settings permission
Opening Widget Settings
- Click Settings in the sidebar.
- Click Booking widget in the settings menu.
The widget settings page has three sections: Default settings, Booking wizard settings, and Embed options.

Step 1: Set Your Brand Colors
The widget uses two colors to match your brand:
- Find the Widget colors section.
- Click the Primary Color swatch to open the color picker, or type a hex code directly (e.g.,
#0d3b66). - Set the Text Color the same way. The default is a dark gray (
#303233) which works well for most sites. - Click Update.
Step 2: Choose the Default Listing View
You can display products and experiences in a grid layout (cards) or a list layout.
- Find the Widget default listing view setting.
- Select Grid or List.
- Click Update.
Grid view shows product cards with images in a multi-column layout. List view shows products in a single-column layout with more detail visible at a glance. Customers can switch between views on the widget itself using the view toggle — this setting just controls which one they see first.
Step 3: Enable Voucher Sales (Optional)
If you want customers to purchase gift vouchers through the widget:
- Find the Enable gift card/voucher sales toggle.
- Turn it on. The toggle shows "Enabled" when active.
- A Purchase page link appears below the toggle — this is your voucher widget URL.
- Click Update.
Step 4: Enable the Booking Wizard (Optional)
The wizard is a step-by-step booking flow that guides customers through selecting dates, choosing items, and checking out. It is an alternative to the standard browse-and-add-to-booking flow.
- Scroll down to the Booking wizard settings (optional) section.
- You will see Rentals and Experiences tabs.
- On the Rentals tab, find the Enable wizard flow for guided bookings? toggle and turn it on if you want customers to follow a guided booking flow for rentals.
- Switch to the Experiences tab and repeat for experiences if desired.
The wizard toggle saves automatically when you flip it.
Step 5: Configure Skill Levels (Optional)
If you enable the wizard, you can organize your products or experiences into skill levels. This helps customers find the right option for their ability.
- After enabling the wizard, click Manage experience/skill levels.
- A side panel opens where you can create levels (e.g., "Beginner," "Intermediate," "Advanced").
- For each level, enter a name and optionally a short description (up to 15 words).
- Click + Add additional level to add more levels (up to 10).
- Click Save.
- Back on the settings page, use the Categories and Products dropdowns under each level to assign items to that level.
- Click Update to save the level assignments.
Step 6: Copy Your Widget Links
Once your settings are saved, you can grab the links for your widget:
- Scroll down to the Embed options section.
- You will see tabs for Rentals, Experiences, and Store (if the store module is enabled).
- For each tab, you get two options:
- Option A — An iframe embed code with a Copy code button
- Option B — A direct link with a Copy link button
- A live preview of the widget is also shown below the embed options.
Next Steps
Your widget is now configured. Here is what to do next:
- Embed it on your website — Add the widget to WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, or any other website builder.
- Test it — Preview the widget and make a test booking to make sure everything works.
- Customize further — Fine-tune colors, display options, and layout.
