About ACE Adventure Resort
ACE Adventure Resort sits on a large private property at Minden, just outside Oak Hill, West Virginia, and has been running whitewater trips in the New River Gorge for decades. The resort combines a rafting outfitter, an activity park and a lodging operation on one site a few minutes from the national park boundary.
Rafting runs the full range, from the gentle Upper New for children as young as six through Lower New half and full-day trips to the fall Upper and Lower Gauley, which is among the most demanding commercially run whitewater in the country. Other bookable activities include a zipline tour, an aerial adventure park, guided rock climbing and rappelling, mountain biking, ATV tours, paintball, a mud obstacle course, guided fishing trips and multi-day whitewater kayak clinics. Their Wonderland Waterpark is built around a private lake with inflatable obstacle courses, slides and a splash pad.
Lodging covers deluxe cabins, bunkhouses, cabin tents, RV sites and tent camping, with several restaurants and bars on the property. ACE handles large groups well, running dedicated programs for scouting organizations, school field trips, corporate teams and reunions, and their WILD Institute arm teaches swiftwater rescue and rowing clinics for people who want to learn the skills rather than ride along.
