About Eagle Eye Adventures
Eagle Eye Adventures is a wildlife tour company based at Coast Marina on the Campbell River waterfront, on the east coast of Vancouver Island. From its dock the boats reach Discovery Passage, the Discovery Islands and the inlets beyond, some of the richest marine waters on the BC coast. The company says it has hosted more than 28,000 guests.
The main trips are a six-hour whale watching tour and a four-hour wildlife tour that runs through the ocean rapids, with a chance to see orcas, humpbacks, gray whales, minke whales, dolphins, porpoises, seals and sea lions. From late August to mid-October an eight-hour grizzly bear expedition heads up the mainland inlets, with local Klahoose First Nation guides leading the bear viewing. Shorter options include a two-hour sunset tour and a summer eagle tour, plus private charters and a two-day combo that adds a historic mail-run floatplane flight. Guests choose between covered boats and Zodiacs on most trips.
Eagle Eye markets itself as the first certified responsible whale watching company in the world. Naturalist guides run every tour, meals or snacks are included on the longer trips, and the boats carry onboard washrooms, which matters on a six- or eight-hour day on the water.
