About Freedive Koh Tao
Freedive Koh Tao was the first dedicated AIDA freediving school established on the island and remains one of its best-known centres for breath-hold diving. Based in the Sairee Beach area, it focuses purely on freediving rather than scuba, teaching students to descend on a single breath in the clear, deep water just off Koh Tao's coast.
The school teaches the full AIDA syllabus from beginner Level 1 through to advanced and instructor levels, with specialist coaching for equalisation problems, depth progression and breath-hold technique. All freediving equipment including long fins, low-volume masks and wetsuits is supplied, and sessions run in small groups with a strong emphasis on safety and one-to-one attention.
Its real differentiator is depth and specialism: as the original AIDA school on Koh Tao it has deep experience solving the equalisation issues that hold many freedivers back, and its instructors are recognised for coaching students well beyond entry level into serious depth and competition-style training.
