About New Heaven Dive School
New Heaven Dive School is one of the oldest dive operations on Koh Tao, tracing its roots on the island back to 1995 and based in the southern bay of Chalok Baan Kao. Beyond standard diving, it has built a strong reputation around marine conservation, reef restoration and ecological education, attracting divers who want their training tied to protecting the underwater environment.
The school runs the full PADI and SSI course ladder plus daily fun dives, and adds specialist offerings including freediving, yoga and a respected marine conservation programme with hands-on reef survey and restoration work. Full scuba and freedive equipment is available, and groups range from one-to-one beginner sessions to longer internship-style conservation courses.
What distinguishes New Heaven is this conservation focus: it operates its own reef-monitoring and restoration projects and offers EcoDiver and conservation internships rarely found elsewhere on the island. That blend of long history, professional dive training and genuine environmental work makes it a standout for purpose-driven travellers.
