About Kokopelli Surf Camp
Kokopelli Surf Camp was founded in 2010 by East Coast surfing champions Brandon and Wyatt Todd and has grown into the top-rated outdoor activity provider in North Myrtle Beach on TripAdvisor. Operating from multiple beach access points along the North Myrtle Beach and Myrtle Beach oceanfront, they combine surf instruction with guided kayak and paddleboard eco-tours through the salt marshes and barrier islands of Cherry Grove.
Surf lessons run in small groups with all equipment provided, and instructors work in the shallow breaks suitable for first-timers and younger kids. The kayak and paddleboard eco-tours paddle out to Waities Island and through the Intracoastal salt marshes, where guides point out dolphins, stingrays, horseshoe crabs, and shorebirds along the way. Rentals are also available without a guide, and Kokopelli offers free delivery of kayaks, paddleboards, and surfboards to any beach or waterfront location in the area.
The combination of competitive surf coaching credentials and eco-tourism knowledge gives Kokopelli a unique niche — they are as comfortable teaching barrel riding as they are identifying marsh bird species. Their free delivery model and flexible scheduling make them especially popular with families and groups staying in rental condos who want equipment brought to their door rather than trekking to a shop. The camp runs March through October and books up fast during peak summer weeks.
