About Lutsen Mountains
Lutsen Mountains is the Midwest's marquee ski destination, spread across four interconnected peaks — Moose, Eagle, Mystery, and Ullr — above the Lake Superior shoreline in Lutsen. With big vertical by regional standards, long cruisers, gladed terrain, and a gondola linking the mountains, it draws skiers and riders from across Minnesota, Wisconsin, and beyond.
Winter operations include full ski and snowboard rental fleets, lesson programs from first-timer packages to advanced coaching, terrain parks, and mountaintop dining at the summit chalet. Snowmaking and a long season keep lifts turning from November into April most years. In summer the resort flips to sightseeing mode: the Summit Express gondola carries hikers and leaf-peepers to panoramic views of the Sawtooth Mountains and Lake Superior, and an alpine slide runs down Eagle Mountain.
The combination of scale and scenery is unmatched in the region — nowhere else in the Midwest do lift-served runs come with big-lake views like these. Paired with the shops, lodging, and restaurants of the surrounding Lutsen resort area, it anchors Cook County's winter economy and gives the North Shore a true four-season mountain resort.
