About Blacktip Scuba
Blacktip Scuba is a small PADI Five Star dive resort based at Phi Phi The Beach Resort on Long Beach, a stretch of sand named for the blacktip reef sharks that cruise its shallows. Being outside Tonsai Village means quieter mornings, beach departures by speedboat, and dive days that avoid the pier rush entirely.
The center teaches Discover Scuba Diving in half a day and runs full PADI Open Water, Advanced, and Rescue Diver courses, with continuing education available beyond that. Confined-water training happens in a private pool rather than off a crowded beach, and boats head out to Shark Point, the reefs of Phi Phi Leh Marine Park, and the sites around the Bida islands in deliberately small groups.
Personal service is the pitch and the practice. With a handful of divers per trip, instructors adjust plans around what guests actually want to see, and the house reef delivers reliable shark sightings a few fin kicks from the shop. Divers staying on Long Beach get a full-service dive operation without ever needing to walk into town. The shop runs a high-season schedule, so it is worth confirming dates ahead for travel between May and October.
