About Kayak Chang
Kayak Chang, the Koh Chang base of South East Asia Kayaking, runs sea kayak trips and paddler training out of Magic Resort on Klong Prao. The operation sits inside the Koh Chang Marine National Park, a protected reserve of 52 islands that ranks among the best sea kayaking territory in Southeast Asia.
Day trips explore the coastline and nearby islands, while guided expeditions of 3 to 12 days island-hop through the archipelago with nights on remote beaches. For paddlers who want credentials rather than just mileage, the school teaches British Canoeing sea kayak awards, from the Sea Kayak and Coastal Sea Kayak Awards up to Sea Kayak Leader training and assessment, plus coastal navigation and tidal planning.
The gear separates this outfit from beach-hut rentals: fiberglass expedition kayaks and Werner carbon fiber paddles rather than plastic sit-on-tops. Guiding follows a leave-only-footprints ethic, with local suppliers used throughout the islands, and trips suit everyone from first-time paddlers to experienced kayakers logging assessment hours.
