About Koh Mak Divers
Koh Mak Divers is a British/Dutch family-run dive shop set just behind Ao Kao Beach on Koh Mak, the quiet island between Koh Chang and Koh Kood. The family brings 25 years of professional diving experience in the Koh Chang archipelago, and the whole operation, kids included, has grown up around the shop.
Daily dive and snorkel trips leave aboard the shop's boat, Thaitanic II, for Koh Rang National Marine Park, where huge pinnacles and coral reefs sit minutes closer to Koh Mak than to Koh Chang itself. PADI training runs from Bubblemaker and Discover Scuba Diving for kids through Open Water, Advanced, Rescue, and Divemaster, plus refresher tune-ups for divers coming back after a break.
The pitch is simple: the same marine park the Koh Chang boats cross to reach, with a shorter ride and smaller crowds. The shop has earned recommendations from Lonely Planet, Rough Guides, and Footprint, and suits divers basing themselves on a slower island without giving up the archipelago's best sites.
