About Oceanfix Dive Centre
Oceanfix is a PADI 5 Star dive shop on Maple Street in Campbell River, with roots in local diving that go back to 1985. The shop serves divers heading into Discovery Passage, where strong tidal currents feed cold, clear water packed with marine life and some of the best-known cold-water dive sites in Canada.
Training runs from Discover Scuba try-dives through professional-level courses, with specialty programs in drysuit, nitrox and rescue diving. Local charters go out on the shop's own dive boat, Ocean Guardian, to sites along the passage, and film and photography charters can be arranged for underwater shooters. The retail side stocks brands such as BARE, Aqualung, Shearwater and Ikelite, and the shop handles tank fills, gear rentals, repairs and inspections.
Oceanfix also runs a Snorkel with the Salmon program, which puts guests in the river alongside the salmon runs that give Campbell River its reputation. It is a memorable trip for non-divers and one of the more unusual things to do in town. For divers new to cold water, the drysuit training and local charters make it a sensible place to start.
