About Cabot Trail Adventures
Cabot Trail Adventures is a family-run paddling outfit on Shore Road in Dingwall, near the northern tip of Cape Breton Island. The business was long known as Eagle North Kayak, and it still operates from the same spot right on the water, a short drive off the Cabot Trail near Cape North.
Rentals include single and double sea kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddleboards, with two-hour and full-day options for exploring the sheltered saltwater coves around Aspy Bay. For paddlers who want a guide, the half-day sea kayak tour spends about three hours exploring harbors, beaches and rocky coastline. The shop is open Monday to Saturday through July and August, with rentals by appointment in June and September, and guided tours run by reservation in midsummer.
The calm, protected water right off the launch makes this a good fit for first-time paddlers and families with young children, while the open coast beyond gives experienced paddlers something to push toward. It is also a handy stop for Cabot Trail travelers who want to get out on the water near Cape North.
