About Keltic Express Zodiac Adventures
Keltic Express Zodiac Adventures, known locally as KEZA, runs marine wildlife tours from the wharf in Ingonish on the Cabot Trail. The trips work the waters beside Cape Breton Highlands National Park, with views of Ingonish Island and the Keltic Lodge headland along the way.
Each tour lasts about 90 minutes aboard a fast Zodiac that runs along the rugged shoreline in search of whatever is around that day. Fin, minke, humpback and pilot whales are the main draw, and trips also turn up dolphins, seals, puffins, bald eagles and, on some days, leatherback turtles. The season runs from June into October, with reservations taken online or by phone.
The short format suits travelers driving the Cabot Trail who want time on the water without giving up half a day. The company reports one of the highest sighting rates in Atlantic Canada, and the small, quick boat gets guests close to the coast and the wildlife.
